Astute Medical, Inc. is a start-up company dedicated to improving the diagnosis of high-risk medical conditions through the identification and validation of protein biomarkers that can serve as the basis for novel in vitro diagnostic tests.
Astute Medical, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual to help support our statistical analysis group. Activities include development of multivariate data quality checks; extraction and management of clinical and assay data from relational databases; design and production of analysis datasets; development and production of standardized analyses and summaries in the form of tables, listings and figures; development of utilities to automate production of standardized analyses; and ad hoc data analysis. This person will also help develop and implement standard programming practices and strategies to insure that these standards are followed by other members of the statistical programming team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Data Management group to design data collection instruments and multivariate data quality checks that will ensure high quality data for analysis
Design, develop, test, validate, document, and maintain programs, macros and utilities for the management, analysis and reporting of study data
Provide data analysis support for exploratory/ad hoc inquiries
Help to establish, document and refine programming standards
Help develop guidelines for testing and documenting programming code to ensure programs and output conform to applicable company and regulatory standards
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a field related to the biological or health sciences. A Master's degree in statistics is preferred
Thorough knowledge of SAS with at least 5 years experience using Base, STAT, and GRAPH procedures
A minimum of 3 years experience developing applications using the SAS macro language
A minimum of 3 years of SQL programming experience required. Relational database experience preferred
A minimum of 3 years experience working with clinical research data
Experience developing utilities to automate processes within the Windows operating system environment preferred
Experience with the R programming language a plus
Knowledge of CDISC standards a plus
