POSITION SUMMARY:
The Statistician?s work will be central to research and development efforts undertaken to improve InsideTrack?s products and practices and develop new ones. Our unique insights and innovative use of data are at the core of our success and will be pivotal to continued growth.
As part of our Analytics team, the Statistician with interface with teams in Product Management, Coaching Services and Information Technology to understand our data and the processes that create it, gather and integrate data and contextual information, design rigorous analyses, carefully craft experiments, document approaches and findings and suggest interpretations and next steps. In addition, this role will include a teaching component: Training other analysts on methods and tools and raising the statistical sophistication of our internal audience.
A strong candidate will have:
A Master?s degree or higher in Statistics, Econometrics, Analytics, Operations Research or a closely related field- preferably with research focused in the social sciences and/or business
Three to five years of related work experience
A mastery of experimental design and inferential statistics
Fluency in a statistical package such as SPSS, SAS, Stata or R, as well as Excel
Familiarity with SQL, relational databases and data warehouses
Ideally, some experience with any scripting language
Comfort balancing multiple competing projects with shifting priority and context
Strong communication skills
A passion for higher education
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires travel approximately 10% of time including overnight travel, typically to/from San Francisco, Portland and/or Nashville.
