Description
PLA seeks an experienced Storage Architect to help us continue to grow our Virtualization, Infrastructure and Storage practice. The position will be directly responsible for leading clients through architecture design sessions for virtualization solutions along with implementing the solutions and documenting those findings in a comprehensive plan.
The lead consultant will help clients to design storage and virtualization solutions and provide technical implementation and integration with EMC SAN / NAS / BRS and other vendor storage platforms. Overall responsibilities consist of pre-site data gathering, storage and virtualization solution design, interoperability verification, initial installation / configuration, optimization re-configuration, and technical knowledge transfer to the customer.
Extensive hands-on experience in implementation, monitoring, managing, troubleshooting, and reporting of EMC SAN, EMC NAS, and BRS systems and respective backup and archive software.
Knowledge of VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer and various datacenter products a plus.
Must possess strong interpersonal, business and technology skills that enable them to engage at the CxO and Director/Manager levels, as well as lead teams of consultants and clients. Ideal candidates will also be experienced in IT consulting with a holistic understanding of the IT operations within a business organization. Also, be able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced sales and quality-based delivery model, work in a team-based environment and self-manage.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install and Configure EMC Solutions particularly the VNX series
Attach virtualization hosts to EMC SAN/NAS ARRAYS
Install, update, configure and troubleshoot Emulex/Qlogic/vendor-badged HBA drivers and firmware
Create RAID groups, bind LUNs, and perform LUN masking. Present logical devices to OS via Fibre Channel or iSCSI protocols.
Set up DR solutions between EMC arrays or third-party & EMC arrays. Install array-based software such as MirrorView / Snapview / Sancopy as well as setup replication along with solutions such as RecoverPoint.
Perform data migration using array-based features / software, including LUN migration, Clariion Sancopy, Open Replicator, RepliStor
Load NAS code and configure EMC Celerra NS integrated and gateway systems for NFS, CIFS, and multi-protocol file access. Use Celerra AVM or manually configure storage pools. Create file systems and export them for NFS / CIFS / both.
Join CIFS servers to AD and manage ACL via local groups. Troubleshoot networking related issues. Access provisioned networked shares and exports.
Understand and be able to troubleshoot or design backup and archive systems such as Data Domain.
Perform data migration from legacy / third-party NAS systems to Celerra using host-based utilities
Configure VNX IP replication
General knowledge around other storage platforms such as NetApp, HP, and Dell
Provide knowledge transfer to the customer to facilitate optimal usage of EMC products
Provide technical input and assist customer troubleshoot issues on- and off-site
Act as a mentor and provide technical training to peers, customers and other groups as needed
Certifications:
EMC/ASN/BRS Certification
VMware Infrastructure Competency preferred
VMware Business Continuity Competency preferred
Microsoft virtualization certifications a plus
Other storage certifications (in addition to EMC) a plus
