Strain Development Scientists Allylix

Allylix has several positions available in strain development for scientists with varying levels of experience. Research scientists will have primary responsibilities for generating microbial strains for the production of sesquiterpenes and other high value products by fermentation of genetically and metabolically-engineered yeast or other microorganisms. Responsibilities will be to design and implement strategies for constructing strains capable of high level, economical production of commercial products. The positions will require a Ph.D. in life sciences and at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge and experience in gene cloning, strain development, and protein engineering will be required. Thorough understanding of genetics, physiology, biochemistry, and metabolism of microorganisms will also be required.
Research assistants and associates working under the supervision of senior scientists will implement strategies for development of strains. These positions will require a BS or higher in life sciences, preferably with several years of industrial research experience and working knowledge of laboratory methods in microbiology, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry. Experience in areas of DNA purification, PCR, gene cloning and expression, and handling, maintaining, and cultivating microorganisms is required.
