The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for establishing and managing strategic alliances/relationships with the largest and most business critical non owner/payer organizations for Availity. Relationships are established and fostered at the appropriate levels of payer organizations, resulting in the strategic alignment and execution of product and project related initiatives. The Strategic Account Manager works toward mutual goals and objectives to build awareness and support of the overall strategic benefits of the non-owner/payer alliance, and performs ongoing strategic alliance activities with non-owner/payers to ensure that the goals and objectives of all parties are aligned.
The Strategic Account Executive position requires expert communication skills for the purpose of interacting effectively and accomplishing objectives at all organizational levels. The position requires the most current and leading-edge skills and knowledge, operates unsupervised and consults on the most complex projects. Up to 50% travel may be required.
Non-Owner/Payer Relationship Management (70%)
Serves as the primary relationship manager between key non-owner/payers and Availity.
Engages leadership at non-owner/payer organization to collaborate with Availity and work toward common goals.
Identifies opportunities to up-sell new products or services and then facilitates the payer?s relationships with a sales person.
Effectively communicates current plans and future vision for Availity?s products and services.
Acts as the primary point of contact for accountability and escalation and resolves non-owner/payer issues as appropriate.
Follows up with other Availity team members on outstanding non-owner/payer issues and concerns.
Accountable for the successful alignment of the organization around strategic account manager program objectives (operations, provider relations, IT, etc.).
Responsible for strong inter-departmental relationships to obtain objectives, including communicating and facilitating activities with staff from the CEO to the help desk.
Establishes metrics for strategic account management performance; tracks and communicates results.
Defines and manage critical success factors, escalate where appropriate, and implement contingency plans.
Serves as a champion of Availity. Influences (internally and externally) upward and obtains buy-in from executive and key decision makers.
Applies influence and motivation throughout organization (internally and externally) to ensure alliance success.
Matrix-manages a broad spectrum of resources to meet critical deadlines and communicates progress.
Facilitating Marketing Initiatives and Upsales (30%)
Must be able to successfully coordinate and facilitate cross-departmental meetings with representatives from Availity and non-owner payer organizations.
Collaborates with internal departments and external partner/allies in the development and implementation of eCommerce strategies, marketing plans and business models.
Markets new and existing alliances through creation, development and implementation of various business solutions and manages those relationships.
Develops strategies for establishing partnership and business relationship to market Availity products and services.
Coordinates with AM and provides goals, measures, and metrics for all marketing activity
Provide guidance to any Account Management/Support position for assigned account
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Required)
5 or more years of alliance and relationship management experience
Problem Solving, communication and coordination skills to reach executive-level decision makers.
Knowledge of healthcare payer processing, provider/hospital office operations, customer service and IT operations.
Detailed knowledge of product and project management lifecycles.
Strong relationship management, influence, and collaboration skills.
Ability to articulate business value to gain commitment and support.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analysis and research skills, specifically as demonstrated in health care companies.
Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions.
Ability to work under pressure
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Preferred)
5 or more years of alliance and relationship management experience preferably in a health care, payer, provider relations, or technology environment.
Experience with provider community to include hospitals, physicians, and ancillary facilities.
Experience with vendor community, including payers, billing services, practice management systems and clearinghouses.
Technical systems integration knowledge
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) knowledge
Experience working in an entrepreneurial company
Experience working with health plans and/or health insurance
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Required)
Bachelor?s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field of study.
