Strategic Accounts System Engineer Ruckus Wireless
As part of a highly skilled team within an extremely fast growing startup; the Systems Engineer will be responsible in helping drive the success of large network operator equipment trials worldwide with early-stage hardware and software. This individual will also be required to interface with multiple groups within Engineering, Marketing, Support, and Sales to ensure the pilot trials are successful.
The Strategic Accounts Systems Engineer is expected to:
Work with Carrier customers to understand trial objectives and collaborate with them on the design of appropriate deployment and test plans and procedures. (Formats include proof of concept tests, live demonstrations, and benchmarking tests.)
Become an expert in Ruckus products, core technology, network designs, and applicable competitive offerings, along with demonstration, deployment, and verification best practices.
Shape customers? trial plans to accentuate Ruckus strengths and highlight competitors? weaknesses.
Coordinate selection and timely fulfillment of resources required for successful execution of the plan, including Ruckus products (hardware, software), 3rd-party elements, and people.
Plan, execute, and lead on-site activity at critical trial stages as required.
Provide problem definition, customer expectation and motivation, functional deficiencies, and alternative stratagems to Ruckus product management and engineering to better align product demonstrables with market expectations.
Contribute technical perspectives to overall account strategy development before, during, and after trials.
Qualifications:
Required Skills
5+ Years? experience as an SE working for a carrier network equipment manufacturer.
Exposure to ISP/Mobile Carrier network architectures, in particular back-end HLR/AuC, AAA, policy implementation elements (PCRF, DPI) and policy definition.
Experience with 3GPP Packet Core (3G UMTS/LTE) and 4G radio networks (W-CDMA, HSPA, LTE), related cellular packet network architectures (SGSN/GGSN, PDG, EPC in general), and other core infrastructure components (lawful intercept, billing systems, EMS) would be very useful.
Strong Linux and RADIUS Server experience (configuration, debugging, scripting)
Demonstrated skill at leading teams engaged in collaborative planning and execution of complex network operator equipment trials.
Solid knowledge of networking technologies, including switching and routing, TCP/IP protocols, tunneling, network security, and related authentication and encryption technologies.
Solid knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies including 802.11a/b/g/n, 802.1x, 802.11i, and WISPr.
Demonstrated leadership skills required to manage initiatives across functions and levels.
Ability to present persuasively in front of large or small groups of people.
Designing or Documenting Network Architectures Designing or Documenting low level network signaling flows
Scripting e.g. PERL, BASH, PYTHON and C exposure desirable
Debugging network protocols using a network analyzer e.g. WireShark
Experience with Network Test Tools (e.g. Chariot )
