Strategic Insights Manager

The Strategic Insights Manager will develop key insights from Recyclebank's innovative marketing partnerships through a deep understanding of our members and our partner's branding objectives. Using a blend of Recyclebank member surveys and internal data-sets, this position will focus on equipping the Marketing and Ad/Sponsorship team with data-driven insights that demonstrate the value of Recyclebank's platform through a compelling narrative.
On a day-to-day basis, he/she will work with multiple data sources pulling information relevant to a business issue or question, distilling this information into actionable insights and flagging top issues to help drive the business forward. This person will work closely with the Director of Insights in a collaborative environment, but should also be able to run projects independently with ease.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for managing brand impact studies for unique sponsorship executions and tent pole events
- Lead and execute end-to-end project delivery - set up, survey design, questionnaire development, analysis and reporting - with strong hold on overall project integrity
- Deliver on the objectives of the study through close collaboration with account management and research vendor.
- Understand client-partner needs and address them through well-designed surveys
- Craft “story-telling†presentations, delivering key messages concisely
- Lead consumer insights based client conversations, internal and external, from initial request management to final deliverable.
- Manage external vendor and client partner relationships
- Act as a bridge between smart strategic thinking and actionable results.
- Leveraging both internal data sources/tools as well as syndicated research in the creation of market-facing sales materials
- Consult with sales teams to support account planning and advertiser strategy throughout entire sales cycle.
- Create thoughtful and innovative audience analyses in order to best position and distinguish our platform in the marketplace
- Enable market-place decision making through thought-leadership insights and trend overviews
- Internal expert of Recyclebank's target consumer groups, including demographic and psychographic insights.
- Discover, monitor, analyze and interpret trends in consumer eco-friendly behavior
- Track and disseminate consumer behavioral/attitudinal insights to key internal stakeholders
- In house 'go-to' expert on the Eco-curious Mom
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong background in designing and executing surveys including ongoing consumer perception surveys (pre-post, customer satisfaction).
- Fluent in conducting strategic research such as branding and segmentation research, as well as tactical research like ad testing
- Strong written & verbal communication skills required
- Experience using consumer based studies such as MRI, Forrester, JD Power, Iconoculture, etc.
- Strong inter-personal skills; comfortable being the “go-to†person for research insight
- Experience in a variety of different research methodologies including phone and online survey design, brand tracking, focus groups, ethnographies, as well as innovative research techniques that capture consumer insights in new, untapped ways
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, innovative and high-energy environment with sense of urgency is essential

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of hands-on work experience in consumer insights, preferably with a CPG or Retailer, alternatively with a market research company, advertising agency or media brand.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Marketing or Communications; advanced degree a plus
