Strategic Sourcing Manager Vertafore, Inc.
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Within the Finance department, the newly formed Strategic Sourcing role will report to the Director of Procurement & Facilities and be responsible for working with Information Technology and Functional teams to lead IT and business related centralized sourcing initiatives and contracting activities for Vertafore.
This role covers the following key sub-categories Networks & Telecoms, Services, Software & Applications and Infrastructure and other business sourcing and purchasing spend. Works with the IT project and technology leaders to define their requirements, develop the strategic sourcing strategy, negotiate deals, take ownership through the contracting process, define the SLA's and determine requirements for ongoing supplier management.
Reviews the spend analysis reports and provides potential sourcing opportunities to the organization. Identifies and leads e-procurement strategies for across IT sub-categories and other business purchasing categories. To be viewed as a trusted business advisor and excellent source of knowledge to business unit executives.
The position requires strong business, financial, technology, and customer service capabilities in order to facilitate and structure deals that protect Vertafore?s best interests and meet the needs of internal customers. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, be highly organized, self-motivated, good listener, and solution-oriented problem-solver with the ability to handle a variety of tasks independently and efficiently. Additionally, this individual must be energetic, ethical, and desire a challenging work environment.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
With one direct report, manage a result that provides the optimal balance of internal/external customer support, executive direction, product/service value and speed to market consideration
Utilize contract development strategies with the objective of maintaining Vertafore?s leverage and flexibility while reducing the overall operation risks
Develop, implement and maintain the best possible sourcing strategies for IT and other key business procurement by applying category management and sourcing strategies, techniques, and processes
Apply specific category knowledge to sourcing strategies to oversee the development and sourcing of products/services and provide flexible options to meet budget requirements
Establish and further the development of key business partner relationships with internal clients and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization by jointly developing sourcing strategies and driving change management and implementation throughout the organization
Provide project management and leadership for any new and enhanced supplier integration activities
Review and assess product/service needs and ensure alignment of the procurement programs to the Company's strategic, business and product plans
Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and measurement programs
Responsible for negotiating and maintaining national agreements
Measure supplier performance and manage critical product/service/supplier issues
Ability to recognize and champion diversity within areas of contract responsibility
Structure and negotiate Service Level Agreements with appropriate providers
EDUCATION and/or Minimum Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
Minimum seven years of sourcing or procurement experience focused on IT-related goods and/or services.
Advanced key procurement skills: development/management of category strategies; RFP/RFI development, contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, management of supplier relationship lifecycle, understanding risk mitigation principles and understanding of various cost evaluation methods (TCO, ROI, Payback period, etc.)
Experience managing Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules and associated project materials
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing business strategy, extensive business case writing, strong background in market intelligence research, and proficient in negotiation strategy and tactics
Strong knowledge of procurement tools, automation and operations
Outstanding written and communication skills, able to clearly and concisely communicate information at multiple levels, adapting easily to change.
Capable of effective executive management presentations, communications
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong subject matter expertise in five or more of the following IT sub-categories:
Application support services
