Strategic Sourcing Specialist Turbine Air Systems

The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and managing the strategic sourcing of large capital components comprising a significant portion of TAS? overall purchasing spend. The candidate will use their strong interpersonal and technical skills to build strategic supplier partnerships, secure a cost effective and reliable strategic supply chain while minimize total cost of ownership in order to support TAS market growth strategies.
Work with engineering teams to insure adequate purchase specifications are in place.
Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships with key suppliers to meet or exceed company requirements for cost reduction, lead time reduction, reliability, on-time delivery, and continual quality improvement.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with supplier personnel and serve as the primary point of contact with strategic sourcing partners.
Manage the procurement process for major capital equipment, including, but not limited to, centrifugal chillers, screw compressors, large pumps, air cooled condensers, cooling towers, and turbo expanders.
Develops and executes sourcing strategies and prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement of spend reduction targets. Interface with internal customers on critical supplier issues as necessary.
Conduct supplier assessments for potential new suppliers. Gathers and analyzes supplier data to prepare analysis and recommendation for supplier selection.
Partner with business unit leaders and technical project teams to gain a full understanding of the business and technical needs for each commodity,
Quartely compile internal demand forecasts for major equipment, with the assistance of the business units.
Proactively and routinely drives spend analysis activities identifying strategic sourcing opportunities within assigned commodities and throughout the SC environment where applicable.
This position will require some travel, globally or regionally dependent on commodity.
Position may also provide advice/guidance to Procurement team and/or lead special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
Work with suppliers to fully understand their supply chain, internal processes and relevant cost drivers in order to develop innovative ways to reduce total cost of ownership, reduce cycle times and improve quality.
Support project teams in the estimating process for acquiring new business.
Solicit quotations, collaborate with technical teams to evaluate and analyze quotations and make recommendations for supplier selections, based on cost, quality, delivery requirements, and other intangible factors.
Where sole source contracts are required, insure cost competitiveness is assured.
Develop long term strategic partnering relationships where appropriate.
Negotiate price, terms and conditions which minimize risk and maximize cash flow.
Insure all required flow-down conditions are covered in all procurement contracts.
Manage supplier change orders.
Manage supplier corrective action requests for assigned commodities.
Assist in managing supplier warranty issues for assigned commodities.
In conjunction with quality develop supplier scorecard and initiate annual evaluation.
Be proactive in working with the entire TAS team to continually improve internal business processes to insure project cost, schedule and quality targets are met.

Knowledge of materials management, purchasing methods, expediting procedures, and supply chain integration.
Great Plains or Sage MAS 500 experience/purchasing module knowledge is a plus but no required.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Experience: 10 years experience in strategic purchasing and supply chain management in an engineer to order, make to order manufacturing environment for large capital equipment.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
4 year business or technical degree, or equivalent.
Member ISM (NAPM) or APICS
EMPLOYEE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, stooping, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading.
