Description The purpose of the summer 2013 Coyote University internship is for current college students to explore all aspects of our growing 3PL. The program is a summer long program in which you will have the opportunity to learn about and apply your business and communication skills in numerous fields within the company. The internship will begin with a general training session in which you will learn about our proprietary internal software program.After learning the basics of the industry, you will have the opportunity to explore the following different roles:
Driver Services: Dispatching and Tracking freight while displaying superb customer service skills
Carrier Operations: Tracking freight for a specific sales representative and working to prevent common problems before they arise
Carrier Sales: Working collaboratively with a regionally designated team to drive revenue growth with new and existing carriers; negotiating rates and communicating internally and externally
Customer Operations: Planning and managing customer support issues that influence customer satisfaction and impact sales
While each role entails a unique set of tasks, you will have the opportunity to utilize, display, and enhance a common set of skills including multi-tasking, attention to detail, confident decision-making skills, effective communication skills, supreme customer service skills, relationship-building, enthusiasm, organization, and team-work. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of different managers and team members while under the over-all supervision of a designated internship mentor.
The long-term goal of the program is for you to have the opportunity to experience numerous aspects of Coyote Logistics in an effort to distinguish whether or not the logistics industry is the right career choice for you!
