The purpose of the 2014 Summer Carrier Sales Combine is to explore sales aspects of our growing 3PL. The 6-8 week program will provide you the opportunity to learn about and apply your business and communication skills in numerous fields within Coyote.
The Summer Combine will begin with a week long general training camp in which you will learn about our proprietary internal software program and industry specifics. Throughout your initial training session, you will have the opportunity to be exposed to the following roles before focusing in a specialized carrier position for the remainder of your summer:
Carrier Sales: Working collaboratively with a regionally designated team to drive revenue growth with new and existing carriers; negotiating rates and communicating internally and externally
Carrier Operations: Working directly with an established, high-producing Sales Representative to manage the daily operational tasks of the existing business, allowing his or her Sales Representative to continue to grow new business
Driver Services: Dispatching and Tracking carrier team freight while displaying superb customer service skills
While each role entails a unique set of tasks, you will have the opportunity to utilize, display, and enhance a common set of skills including multi-tasking, attention to detail, confident decision-making skills, effective communication skills, supreme customer service skills, relationship-building, enthusiasm, organization, and teamwork. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of different managers and team members while under the overall supervision of a designated mentor.
For the rising senior student athlete who can?t sacrifice a full summer away from their sport or a recent grad looking to gain real world experience, this opportunity is open for you. The long-term goal of the program is for you to experience numerous carrier-facing aspects of Coyote Logistics in an effort to distinguish whether or not sales in the logistics industry is the right career choice for you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Maintain and build existing relationships with carrier companies
Daily communication with carriers and dedicated Sales Representative
Update Coyote's proprietary technology with carrier availability and capacity
Manage communication between internal sales teams
Track and trace shipments
Maintain and organize driver and dispatch information
Oversee compliance issues
Enroll carriers in Coyote?s technology programs and mobile app
Identify underutilized carriers
Resolve any issues with carriers or specific loads
WHAT YOU?LL NEED
Collegiate Junior level standing or higher
Strong desire to be a part of a winning team
Strong communication skills
Ability to interact with external contacts and coworkers in a positive manner
