As a Desktop Services Technician Intern, you will be assigned to assist a professional IT staff providing computer hardware, software and related support activities to various internal and remote company employees.
How you?ll do it
Assist with delivering technical support to internal and remote users with computer related incidents, with emphasis on desktop computers, business applications and Microsoft Office suite.
Record, monitor and update IT service desk tickets in the Service Desk Ticketing System.
Hands-on computer imaging and configuration of standardized operating systems and business applications, including network and resource connectivity.
Assist with maintaining the IS Lab hardware/software inventory, including computers, monitors and related accessories.
Assist in the identification and disposal of end-of-life computer hardware and related equipment.
As required, assist IT staff with researching computer related incidents, hardware/software asset inventory/scanning, and validating asset management reports.
What you?ll need
Currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree program, and in a computer related field.
Must have a good attitude, disposition and ability to learn quickly.
Able to research and understand technical documentation, and apply various technical resources.
Able to perform tasks such as providing operating system and application software installations and upgrades.
Able to lift/carry equipment such as monitors, desktop computers, printers, etc. up to 50 pounds for short distances.
Hands-on familiarity working with computer hardware components, desktop operating system software, and MS Office application software.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Understand and follow company rules and regulations.
Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
