Summer Internship: Accounts Payable Intern (Academic Credit Only) Gilt Groupe
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Summer Intern Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury e-commerce organization to join our fantastic teams for 10 weeks. To be considered, you must provide a resume and a cover letter answering the question 'Why Gilt?' and outlining your areas of interest. You must also be able to participate for the entirety of the program and provide a letter of credit for your college or university. This is an unpaid, for academic credit only internship.
Accounts Payable US OPEX (Operating Expenditures) Intern Responsibilities will include: Invoice payment verification, Audit and General Ledger team support, Vendor setup and maintenance, Invoice coding and entry, Vendor inquiry assistance, Aging report investigation, AP mail sorting and distribution, Filing of paid invoices, Scanning and attaching invoices in Oracle and Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications should include: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines, Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Strong verbal and written communication skills and Aptitude for learning accounting software (Oracle experience a plus).
Vendor Distribution Sets Project: The intern will help research the historical account coding for vendors and then help set up distribution sets with that coding. Then these distribution sets with predetermined coding will streamline the invoice entry process making the AP US OPEX team more efficient.
OPEX Vendor Classification Project: The intern will work with the AP US OPEX team to clean up the Vendor Types and Payment Groups to indicate specific departments. Currently some but not all responsible departments have been determined. This project will help with reporting, cash forecasting and workload assignment.
The candidate will work on a wide variety of assignments in a team-oriented environment. He/she will learn the importance of prioritization and multitasking while being exposed to accounts payable processes and procedures. The candidate will gain experience communicating with internal stakeholders and vendors. In addition to Microsoft products, the candidate will have the opportunity to utilize accounting specific software. The intern will be assessed based on their timeliness and accuracy related to daily tasks and projects, along with their overall attitude and willingness to work with others.
