Summer Internship: Art Direction Intern (Academic Credit Only) Gilt Groupe

Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Summer Intern Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury e-commerce organization to join our fantastic teams for 10 weeks. To be considered, you must provide a resume and a cover letter answering the question 'Why Gilt?' and outlining your areas of interest. You must also be able to participate for the entirety of the program and provide a letter of credit for your college or university. This is an unpaid, for academic credit only internship.The Art Direction intern will be immersed in supporting the art direction team based in the Brooklyn studios, with some days spent in 2 Park working directly with the Associate Creative Directors.
The Art Direction intern will learn first hand how a photoshoot is run, both for product and editorial photography. They will also have exposure to how the creative directors interact with teams across the company such as marketing and merchandising, giving them an understanding of how the creative process flows.
Responsibilities will include
? photo research for editorial ideas, trends, competitive analysis, event concepts, etc
? maintenance of photo archive
? assistance with layouts of internal presentations
? location photos/scouting
Candidate should have:
? Graphic design skills - Photoshop and InDesign
? Strong interest/passion for photography and fashion
? Good communication skills
? Ability to work well in a team
? A positive and proactive attitude
