Summer Internship: Kids Buying Intern (Academic Credit Only) Gilt Groupe

Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Summer Intern Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury e-commerce organization to join our fantastic teams for 10 weeks. To be considered, you must provide a resume and a cover letter answering the question 'Why Gilt?' and outlining your areas of interest. You must also be able to participate for the entirety of the program and provide a letter of credit for your college or university. This is an unpaid, for academic credit only internship.Our Baby & Kids Buying team is in search of a motivated, organized and analytical summer intern! You can expect to:
? Provide input on product assortments, trend forecasting, and top items in assortments. Includes
competitive shopping, shopping Gilt Baby & Kids, vendor stores and the market.
? Handle Purchase Order management and administration. This includes writing orders, changes,
cancellations and necessary follow-up (both internally and externally) to ensure key shipments are
delivered and processed
? Partner with warehouse-based staff and vendors to track and manage market, photo shoot, and editorial
samples. Includes collection of detailed and accurate product information for each sale
? Leverage creative merchandising and marketing tactics (such as themed sales, social media) to
maximize relevance appeal for customers and ultimately to maximize sales
? Use merchandizing systems to report on and understand drivers of business performance
Qualifications:
? Strong organizational skills
? Proficiency in retail math and analyzing data
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Strong PC competency, with an emphasis on spreadsheet applications
? Desire to work as an assistant buyer upon graduation
? Attention to detail and conscientiousness
? Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task
? Ability both to work independently and co-operate in a team environment
? Current enrolment in college or university - Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
? GPA of a 3.0 or above
