Summer Internship: Logistics Intern (Academic Credit Only) Gilt Groupe

Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Summer Intern Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury e-commerce organization to join our fantastic teams for 10 weeks. To be considered, you must provide a resume and a cover letter answering the question 'Why Gilt?' and outlining your areas of interest. You must also be able to participate for the entirety of the program and provide a letter of credit for your college or university. This is an unpaid, for academic credit only internship.
As the logistics intern, you will learn the components that an ecommerce business handles to effectively
buy and sell products for an online luxury business. You will be exposed to internal and external partners
to gather knowledge to decrease cost and increase savings. You will work closely with the Logistics,
Supply Chain, Finance and Tech teams to execute projects resulting in time and monetary savings. In
addition you will participate in ad-hoc projects as required.
Responsibilities:
? Work with internal partners to understand technological and fiscal impact of shipping for an ecommerce
business
? Report and analyze shipping trends for our business as well as competitors
? Audit and report on current costs from partners/carriers to maximize savings
? Compare our shipping policies with competitors with ways to improve
? Investigate shipping gains for our growing International business
Qualifications
? Eligible to receive academic credit from University/College
? Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s Degree in business, supply chain, marketing, or other related field
? Willing to travel to Distribution Centers as necessary
? Proficiency in Power Point, Excel, Word
? Excellent organization and communication skills
? An interest in the ecommerce industry is a plus
