Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working interns for our Summer Intern Program! We will be bringing in a group of students across all parts of the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury e-commerce organization to join our fantastic teams for 10 weeks. To be considered, you must provide a resume and a cover letter answering the question 'Why Gilt?' and outlining your areas of interest. You must also be able to participate for the entirety of the program and provide a letter of credit for your college or university. This is an unpaid, for academic credit only internship.
Our Merchandise Planning team is in search of a motivated, organized and analytical summer buying intern! You can expect to:
? Assess financial performance within select categories and support team by recommending pricing,
margin and discounts
? Learn the process and own a portion of the open-to-buy process
? Learn effective inventory management techniques across the entire life cycle, from initial buy decision
through exit
? Partner with Merchandising team to develop assortment strategy, sales schedule and product flow that
support financial plans
? Analyze and determine pre-season buy recommendations to support category plans
? Perform data analysis using large sets of raw information, build business cases and present resulting
strategies to Manager and cross-functional partners
? Partner with Manager to complete at least one long-term strategic project focused on growing our
business
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented and conscientious
Ability to remain flexible and work independently
Self-starter, ambitious in nature
Knowledgeable - proficient in Excel
Excellent written and verbal skills
Ability to communicate effectively
General knowledge of apparel terms and fabrications
Exposure to retail math and analyzing data
3.0 or above GPA
