Gilt Groupe is looking for excited, passionate and hard-working undergraduate students for this year?s Summer Internship Program! This summer, we will host interns across the business to gain experience in our fast-paced luxury ecommerce organization for 10 weeks, from June 9, 2014 through August 15, 2014. This is an unpaid, for-academic credit only internship. All interns are required to provide a letter of credit from their college or university and participate for the entirety of the program. The intern, working alongside the sales team, will learn the work of a sales organization in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment. He or she will experience the entire sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation and preparing the partner for a live sale on Gilt City. The intern will sit in on weekly sales meetings and collaborate on specific projects each week (in addition to longer-term projects) that will provide in-depth exposure to sales and marketing. The experience will also include full training on Salesforce, the opportunity to conduct industry and competitive analysis and organizing and attending sales calls and client meetings. With exposure to all aspects of the business, this is a great opportunity for someone seeking a multi-faceted and fast-paced e-commerce experience. This position will be working out of our Hollywood office.
Eligible candidates must be located in the Los Angeles area and be enrolled in a college/university. This is an unpaid internship for academic credit only.
Create prospect lists
Prepare for weekly sales meetings, i.e. revenue reporting, weekly performance
Organize the sales calendar
Sales Support (learning the sales cycle)
Organize lead generation and assign leads in Salesforce
Support client communication
Assist in tracking daily leads and suggesting potential partners
Create vendor kits, book appointments and attend sales meetings
Track industry trends and conduct daily competitive analysis
Events and sponsorships
Research and investigate events, festivals and opportunities in the local market
Maintain RSVP lists and handle guest lists at Gilt City events
Stay abreast of industry events, social media outlets and publications
Find content for social media outlets including Twitter and Instagram to support local market
The internship will culminate in a final project that will include a PowerPoint presentation showing a creative sale strategy. The project should include a list of prospects in Los Angeles, an overarching theme/collection, a list of target sales that the intern will include in the collection and a strategy to reach a new audience.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor?s degree in communications, business, marketing, advertising or other related field
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Excellent organization and communication skills
An interest in the luxury lifestyle industry or hospitality is a plus
