?This position is responsible for supervisor the Media Network Operations team, proactively monitoring PlayNetwork?s content distribution network (including PlayNetwork players and 3rdparty players) and partnering with external clients in IT management of PlayNetwork services. The candidate will also coordinate and assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of PlayNetwork Media Players through 3rd party ISP providers. This position will also be responsible for managing the daily operations and improvement of all PlayNetwork content distribution networks. The Supervisor of Media Network Operations will support and remotely manage a complex content distribution infrastructure platform. In support of this platform, the supervisor will be responsible for managing the team in analysis, troubleshooting, fault resolution, configuration management, change management and performance management. The job requires strong proactive management and technical skills that may cross multiple functions including networking, servers, applications, project management and Tier 2/3 escalation. This highly visible position demands a very strong technical professional that will interface directly with internal/external clients, 3rd party vendors, and external IT teams. The candidate must possess skills in management of personnel, problem determination/resolution, and external customer presentation/communication skills. The candidate will be working with customers at a time when there is an issue with a player(s) on their network and as such must act with a sense of urgency (on PlayNetwork?s behalf) yet act with a sense of understanding that this will require assistance from the customer to help PlayNetwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
?The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Supervisor, Media Network Operations position. This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs.
Leadership of the Media Network Operations team.
Maintaining an overall on-line connectivity of all players with a target of >90% by YE13 and >98% in YE14, which will be tracked, reported, monitored and measured in live dashboards with weekly status reports (including trend analysis of performance and problems).
Proactive monitoring of the PlayNetwork content distribution network and its active networked locations. This involves pro-actively performing any/all online diagnostics and problem resolutions without any customer interaction, to working with store or corporate
IT/technical/non-technical personnel at various levels (from the person in the store to a corporate employee) to resolve network connectivity issues.
Insuring that the 24 hour response SLA for problem reporting to problem acknowledgement is met on a 100% basis (measured, tracked, and monitored on a real time basis with weekly reporting).
Insuring that problems are resolved within a reasonable period of time (measured, tracked, and monitored on a real time basis with weekly reporting) and that best practices workflow are created, documented, and implemented with a focus on continuous improvement (ie time to resolution, fix to problem being implemented in development, workflow automation)
Management of department goals and objectives
Help internal customers with network troubleshooting
Managing network equipment such as servers, firewalls and network appliances to ensure the highest possible uptime for the content network and networked customer locations.
Scheduling content & software updates
Managing complex connectivity configurations including establishing relationships and escalation procedures with 3rdparty ISP providers
Managing complex network connectivity configurations
Providing technical advisement to PlayNetwork (software development, hardware and services)
Adhering to fault management ticketing and documentation
Developing and documenting daily support procedures for media products in the field
Publishing monthly content update compliance and performance metric reports
Works as a contributing member of the Technology team to help ensure network related practices are strategically aligned with overall business objectives.
?3-5 years? experience supervising a technical team
4-6 years? experience in network management, technical analysis and problem-solving
2-3 years? experience in customer/user support
A bachelor?s degree in Information Technology, Computer
Science, or related field of study or equivalent.
Required Skills and Abilities
?Team management in driving complex projects, goals and completing them on-time. TCP/IP (DHCP, DNS,NAT and PAT ).
Strong experience in deployment, on-going administration and troubleshooting all aspects of Networking equipment (Routers, LAN/WAN Switches and Network Management products) from various vendors.
Strong experience in Linux server/desktop environments.
Experience with cloud networking.
Desired Certifications: CCNA/Network+, Security+, Linux+, RHCSA
Network Security Management ? Firewalls, Intrusion detection, Switching and Routing
Routing and routable protocols.
Cloud based content distributing
