Oversee and drive supplier quality issues and improvements related to RF and other electronic components, electronic assembly, electromechanical components, and printed circuit boards.
Perform bench level test/characterization/failure analysis of systems, boards, and circuits to resolve manufacturing and field quality issues.
Conduct quality and failure analysis investigations of components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes utilizing quality problem solving techniques to optimize product availability, performance and reduce process variation.
Research and issue supplier corrective actions to address internal and external quality manufacturing issues and determine root cause.
Audit and certify suppliers of electronic components using supplier surveys, ratings, and report cards. Collaborate with other departments, functional areas and external partners to identify and expeditiously resolve issues that prevent or delay product shipments.
Lead internal and external cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Utilize quality metrics in developing, monitoring and improving operational objectives.
Requirements:
Five to ten years experience in a technical manufacturing/operations environment as a Quality, Manufacturing, NPI, and Product or test Engineer.
Hands on technical troubleshooting and bench level engineering expertise a must.
Minimum two years experience in supporting RF/wireless products on a component and system level. Must be able to read and understand electrical circuit schematics and be conversant with RF principles and terminology.
Thorough understanding of problem solving, failure analysis and root cause analysis. Excellent data analysis and reporting capabilities required.
Strong experience in understanding and resolving issues with printed circuit boards (PCB), printed circuit assemblies (PCBA), electromechanical assemblies (power supplies, fans, harnesses, cables, etc.), electronic components, RF components, sheet metal, and electronics manufacturing.
Good project management skills, ability to quickly drive issues to closure using available tools and resources.
Well versed in Quality principles, processes, tools and methods. Good understanding of industry standard quality control processes, tools, and inspection techniques. Considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Good interpersonal & communication skills in dealing with suppliers, peers and other functional areas. Ability to present to management in a concise and accurate manner.
Ability to travel domestic or international (expected travel 10-20)
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
