Responsible for quality and supply chain management of tier 1 and mult-subtier suppliers in the Supply Chain. This position is a blended position functioning in both the supplier quality and supply chain groups.
Works closely with fuel cell suppliers on the development and qualification of new manufacturing, assembly and test processes.
Responsible for placing supplier purchase orders and processing invoice receipts.
Responsible for defining and monitoring quality inspection requirements of components and systems, and supporting incoming and supplier inspection with technical guidance on testing requirements.
Perform gage R&Rs with both internal and supplier qualification tests and equipment.
Supports / drives failure analysis and corrective action with supplier to identify and resolve the root cause of the problem.
Work within the supply chain management/purchasing group specifically to support sub-tier supply chain logistics, including tracking of international product assists and MHV (Material in the hands of Vendors).
Provides input and reviews technical documentation for RFP?s/RFQ?s and technical contract issues.
Establishes and/or maintains a system of metrics to continually monitor measurable supplier performance.
Some hands on lab testing work may be required.
Work hours may split between first and second shift initially.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, Industry specific standards and knowledge of change control methods and processes.
Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced team environment.
Ability to participate in purchasing negotiations
Demonstrated use of statistical and process control methods (Six Sigma desired).
Experience in purchasing practices and tools such as JDE and ERP systems.
Engineering or Business Degree, Chemical background preferred.
Six Sigma experience preferred
Proficient in MS Office, Minitab
