Job Summary: : Responsible for representing operations on cross functional product development and cost reduction teams by selecting suppliers, negotiating price and assuring timely delivery of quality parts from proof of concepts through production. Assures the consistent production of high quality products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for supporting engineering on specified product development programs.
Responsible for all aspects of supply chain management for specified suppliers in support of product development.
Identification and qualification of new suppliers.
Monitoring of supplier performance through the supplier audit and monitoring process.
Negotiating cost and delivery schedules for prototype through production.
Enters purchase orders in ERP system.
Lead team in make vs. buy decisions.
Endures the timely delivery of parts to support the production environment.
Monitors delivery status of open POs against the delivery date.
Generates and maintains MRP.
Responsible for the disposition of discrepant materials throughout the production cycle for specified products.
Ensures material management processes and procedures are followed.
Documents business processes in areas of responsibility.
Other tasks and duties as defined by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

Ability to lead cross functional teams on product sourcing and cost reduction initiatives./
Knowledge of supplier qualification and monitoring within a FDA regulated quality system.
Knowledge of ERP systems with emphasis on purchasing and material requirement planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
BA (or equivalent).
APICs course completion a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years work experience in areas of purchasing, product development and MRP.
