Abcam is a world-leading provider of protein detection reagents with its head office in Cambridge, UK. We also have offices in the US, Japan and China. We are seeking a talented, self-motivated and enthusiastic Supply Chain Assistant to join our Logistics team in our Cambridge, MA office.
Primary responsibilities include: Assist with the ordering, processing and updating of our purchase orders using our automated systems. Contact suppliers to resolve issues and liaise with other departments.
Job Purpose:
Order stock from suppliers and track their delivery; process order confirmations and assist in resolving problems and diligently follow-up on overdue items.
Primary Responsibilities:
Order stock from suppliers to fulfil customer orders
Process order confirmations from suppliers and liaise with other departments where necessary to resolve queries
Track inventory in shipments and address any customs delays
Follow-up with suppliers on overdue inventory
Manage all stock discrepancies quickly and professionally
Fill out and update all internal databases and forms
Apply for export licences
Assist in other areas of the business when necessary
Summary of Job Requirements:
Minimum: high school diploma and 2 years of relevant work experience
Recent college graduate with interest in Supply Chain preferred
Experience working in an office environment for 1-2 years is desirable
Purchasing experience, preferred
Very strong interpersonal skills, especially ability to be able to communicate externally with suppliers & internally with colleagues both locally & oversees
Exemplary organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and solve problems
Attentive to detail
Experience working with MS Office ? particularly MS Outlook
