Job Summaryy
The Supply Chain Manager will demonstrate hands-on accountability for functional, business, and company objectives within the areas of Purchasing and Inventory Control. The Supply Chain Manager will play a key role in a cross-functional team to integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Essential Functions
Conduct effective and efficient competitive bidding and negotiations with suppliers of electronic commodities (resistors, capacitors, transistors integrated circuits); Empower designed parts (power supplies, heat sinks, printed circuit boards, housings).
Improve the process for which Empower conducts competitive bidding and negotiation.
Develop, plan, and manage programs that support Empower?s requirements to achieve significant cost savings through strategic procurement processes, while having a highly positive impact on cash flow.
Manage collaborative and strategic supplier relationships as well as responding to unplanned events with clear problem definition with cost/benefit analysis of multiple remedies.
Ensure that the communication with internal stakeholders, purchasing, and suppliers are clear, timely and highly proactive.
Participate in project development and execution stages to offer input to optimize engineering and procurement planning.
Manage purchase orders from order placement to product acceptance, while ensuring that supplier commitments are met through the follow-up of open purchase order commitments.
Assist in the development and implementation of long term agreement and contracting strategies to achieve optimum outcome for Empower.
Develop and maintain a supplier database of quotes and price discount lists.
Partner with the Quality organization in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
Expedite supplier discrepant material dispositions that include the RTV process, rework charge backs, and minimize the impact.
Analyze purchasing activities on a regular basis towards attaining cost reduction goals.
Utilize familiarity with inventory control methods that include kanban, scheduled receipts and re-order points.
Exhibit Rapid Response to New Product and R & D requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in Supply Chain, Economics, Business, Manufacturing and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, MBA a plus.
Certified Purchasing Manager a plus.
Experience managing a Stockroom required.
Demonstrated Cycle Counting experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ability to learn and understand product structure and functionality.
Strong negotiation skills.
Experience with ERP systems required, experience with Epicore Vantage ERP system a plus.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to adjust to changing requirements.
Strong analytical skills for effective problem solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication; as well as effective and efficient use of email.
Ability to grasp issues quickly and make educated, critical judgment decisions.
Have a strong professional presence.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office Products that include Word, Excel, MS Project, and Visio.
