Duties & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: This is a strategic supply chain management position that will focus on the development of a strong interface between the Supply Chain and R&D organizations in order to help design, implement, and maintain a preferred parts and preferred manufacturers program.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
NPI Design Interface Process -
Play a key role in developing and communicating a preferred manufacturer, supplier, and part strategy to Design Engineers.
Recommend suppliers for specific commodities.
Negotiates best pricing and deliveries to meet cost and timing targets of NPI projects.
Expedite purchase orders to support NPI programs.
Coordinates Preferred Supplier Seminar Program.
Ability to complete complex spend analysis evaluations that will support a preferred parts and preferred manufacturers program.
Purchasing Process -
Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues.
Report project status regularly to the Design Teams.
Visit suppliers as necessary.
Resolve invoices discrepancies.
Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required
7 - 10 years supply chain management experience.
Technical undergraduate degree (possibly in an engineering discipline, science, or mathematics).
Strong Excel skills are necessary and ability to work with Access is preferred.
Proven project management with demonstrated ability to complete projects on-time.
Established cost reduction skills, supplier management capability, and a clear understanding of contract manufacturing processes.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally with senior executives.
