The Kiva software team is developing a complex material handling software application for deployment in large-scale customer factory solutions. The fault-tolerant and scalable server-based application consists of many modules and user interfaces running across a set of client PCs. The application includes a high-performance, real-time database and is used for the control of semi-autonomous mobile robotic vehicles.For our growing team, Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated hands-on Software Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills, and enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings. This candidate should be incredibly sharp and possess the desire, drive and energy that is needed to launch new software releases on short time lines. This position reports to the Sustaining Engineering Manager.
As a Kiva System's Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:
Writing tools using Java, JUnit and or a scripting language for Unix systems to aid in automating of tests
Writing and executing acceptance test plans
Manual Testing of non-automated tests
Authoring tools for facilitating day to day testing tasks.
Documenting test results and reproducing software defects.
Creating SW defect reports in JIRA.
Setting up and documenting complex customer configurations.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
2 years' experience Java, Junit
2 years' experience scripting language (ruby, python, bash)
3-5 years QA related work experience
Ability to do manual testing
Ability to write test plans
Unix flavored OS experience
BS in Computer Science preferred.
