THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Synchronous Teaching Strategist will work across 2U?s various graduate and undergraduate programs to help university faculty master our synchronous teaching environment. This position will work directly with the lead professors who design our courses (?Course Leads?). In this capacity, the Synchronous Teaching Strategist will guide and help Course Leads understand the capabilities of the synchronous environment and offer technical, logistical and creative guidance as they develop detailed lesson plans for the weekly live sessions.
The Synchronous Teaching Strategist will engage faculty in partnership with 2U?s Content team during the planning of new courses. The Synchronous Teaching Strategist will also work to ensure the Course Leads? needs regarding live session planning are acknowledged and met. The Synchronous Teaching Strategist will join a growing faculty support and training team that provides world-class support and training to our program faculty and ensures that they are in a position to provide an outstanding online learning experience for our students.
Engage Course Leads in a partnership, via effective and collaborative meetings in person and remotely, with a goal of creating the best synchronous sessions possible in terms of achieving learning objectives and engaging students.
Consult with faculty across all programs, and key colleagues within the Content department, to shape a high-level approach to a given course plan within the first several meetings.
Construct detailed synchronous-session plans from the agreed-upon high-level course plan
Participate in strategic planning, and development of processes that will allow the synchronous teaching tools to scale, be reliable and can be implemented on budget and on schedule
Communicate clearly, patiently and efficiently with faculty, both verbally and through written documentation
Identify opportunities for, and participate in the definition and development of new synchronous teaching tools when appropriate
Design and implement systemic, reliable and scientific assessment of synchronous sessions to ensure successful delivery from technical and learning perspectives.
Mastery-level understanding of the Live Session platform, Adobe Connect Pro, in order to fully leverage features and tools that will create the best possible live session experience
Things That Should Be in Your Background:
Master?s degree or PhD with a focus on adult learning or related field
7+ years? experience
Mastery-level understanding of adult education.
Strong experience with online, synchronous learning technologies.
Deep technical knowledge as it is relevant to implementing the use of new tools in a large scale
