Syndicate & Regional Support Analyst International Catastrophe Insurance

The Analyst for ICAT and Syndicate 4242 works closely with the Regional Executive Officer and Vice President of Underwriting to support ICAT and Syndicate 4242 in achieving our goals. Goals are summarized to include Syndicate Operations and Administration, Syndicate Reinsurance, Syndicate Capital, New Initiative Support, and Regional Analytic Support.
Syndicate Operations and Administration (25%)
?X Prepares the monthly Production Risk Management Committee pack, including preparing production reports. Assists in preparation of monthly tracking reports (appendices) for the Syndicate Board.
?X Works within the Managing Agency and ICAT to coordinate delivery of information to support quarterly reporting (including premium, losses and loss triangles, reinsurance placement terms, etc).
?X Acts as a project manager for the annual Syndicate business plan. Coordinates with ICAT-s Chief Risk Officer, Regional Executive Officers, the Active Underwriter and Asta to create project plans around the buildup, review and delivery of the Annual Syndicate Business Plan (including updates).
?X Facilitate responses to questions from Asta-s Independent Peer Review department and ensure that findings are addressed appropriately.
?X Coordinate resources within ICAT to respond to inquiries or work requests from Asta, included but not limited to Asta-s Risk Management, Reinsurance Administration, Internal Audit and Compliance departments; and review all responses.
Syndicate Reinsurance (20%)
?X Acts as the project manager for the Syndicate-s reinsurance placements. Builds and administers project plans around reinsurance placements to ensure ICAT and its brokers are working effectively and efficiently in the reinsurance market.
?X Supports the preparation of comprehensive and summary presentations for ICAT and current and potential reinsurers. Coordinates with members of the ICAT Reinsurance Working Group (RWG) and reinsurance brokers to develop appropriate materials and exhibits.
?X Works with the Vice President of Underwriting to ensure that reinsurance files are well maintained and that contract terms are communicated widely throughout the company.
?X Is familiar with and coordinates placements within various Syndicate reinsurance security requirements.
?X Works with ICAT Boulder Claims to coordinate delivery of information to the reinsurance market and to coordinate any claim reimbursement requests.
Syndicate Capital (10%)
?X Builds and administers project plans around the annual renewal of Syndicate Underwriting Capacity in coordination with the Vice President of Underwriting and Active Underwriter, as well as appointed Investment Advisors.
?X Coordinates production of quarterly capital provider statements and drafts commentary to investors for review by the Vice President of Underwriting and Active Underwriter.
?X Works closely with the Vice President of Underwriting and Investment Advisors to support the preparation of the Information Memorandum that supports the capital placement; coordinates the production of exhibits including analysis of ICAT-s book of business.
?X Coordinates Coming into Line activities with Vice President of Underwriting and ICAT General Counsel.
New Initiative Support (25%)
?X Works with Regional Vice President V Earthquake to conduct analysis required for presentations to drive new initiatives. This may include activities around MGA capacity (new and renewal), book rollover opportunities and/or binding authorities.
?X Creates exhibits and presentations for internal and external use related to new initiatives.
Regional Analytic Support (20%)
?X Assist Product Manager as directed by Regional Executive Officer V Earthquake on regional analysis; including, but not limited to monthly reporting, rate review, capacity management, exhibits required for presentations and ad hoc requests.
?X Ensures proper file documentation and communication around regional product changes. This may include impact assessments, driving change through the team and/or keeping clean files around all regional changes.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Executive Officer or Vice President of Underwriting.
Works under the direct supervision of the Regional Executive Officer V Earthquake, and the general supervision of the Vice President of Underwriting. It is not expected that this position will have supervisory responsibilities for other personnel.

Minimum 2 years insurance experience with specific underwriting, or pricing experience.
Bachelor-s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience required. Quantitative degree such as Mathematics, Economics or Engineering preferred.
