System Administrator Vidyo
The System Administrator is responsible for providing IT support to Vidyo?s employees, servers, systems, and infrastructure. The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate, document issues, and collaborate with his/her teammates when servicing clients and the infrastructure to deliver the highest level of business continuity and service excellence. This position is located at our corporate office in Hackensack, New Jersey.
As a member of the Technology Integration team, the API Integration Engineer will be responsible for collaborating and supporting the successful integration of Vidyo products into our customers? existing infrastructure. The primary responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:
Linux server maintenance, building packages, patching, scripting, etc.
Support VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
Evaluate and install software, operating systems, and miscellaneous patches
Scope projects, develop action plans, and deliver results within established timeframes
Resolve questions using known information and further research when available resources do not provide adequate resolutions
Provide guidance and advice to new and existing users on software applications, new hardware, etc.
Communicate timely and effectively ticket status and known issues with team members to ensure service continuity
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
Patch network cabling, Cat5e/6, MM/SM fiber from panel/device to service/device
Update job knowledge by seeking out and participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, etc.
Protect Vidyo?s value by keeping information confidential
Provide rotational on-call support
Minimum of four (4) years of experience within a corporate IT environment
Prior server experience or exposure: Linux, VDI, Active Directory, Network Appliance NAS, Macintosh, hardware installation, and troubleshooting
Prior experience supporting remote, worldwide sites
Proven experience in system administration/help desk support
Prior experience supporting servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and imaging devices
Prior experience or exposure to VMWARE ESXi across multiple servers
Prior experience supporting Microsoft Operating Systems
Technical understanding of network protocols and services including (TCP/IP, FTP, DNS, DHCP, Wins, SAMBA, SMTP, NFS, NIS,LDAP)
Prior experience or exposure to managing security issues such as malware/virus cleaning, hardware hardening, etc.
Excellent verbal and written skills that are understandable to the intended audience
Enthusiastic, eager to learn, be taught, and be resourceful
Willingness to occasionally work outside regular business hours to perform network and server maintenance
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will have had exposure to various networking gear including HP, Cisco, or Juniper routers and switches.
