Skills: Knowledge of RedHat and Debian Linux servers as well as Ubuntu and Windows clients. Experience in web, security, and networking. Must be able to communicate well with technical and non-technical employees, vendors, and partnersResponsibilities: Responsible for installing, maintaining, monitoring and upgrading servers, network systems and Verient application software for the on-site and co-located deployments. Also responsible for ensuring the servers are backed up, and that the server data is secure from unauthorized access.
Must have a strong understanding of network and security issues including firewalls, VPNs and encryption. Experience with email servers, web servers such as Apache and writing shell scripts is a must. Experience with modjk and application servers such as jboss is highly desirable. Some basic database experience is a plus. Experience with postfix and dovecot is desirable.
