Redfin's mission is to change the real estate game in the consumer's favor. We've built a bleeding-edge real estate
search site with hordes of rabid fans and an iPhone app that was featured in Apple's TV ad campaign. Our real
estate team guides buyers and sellers through complex real estate transactions - we're trying to do it better,
faster, and less costly, advocating for the customer at every step of the way.
As a Redfin System Administrator, your job is quite simple: keep Redfin humming. You'll be given the freedom to
practice your craft amongst some very sharp and motivated people. Your goal, if you choose to accept it, is to keep
Redfin team members working through literal and figurative technical fires. You'll take ownership of networking,
both wired and wireless, as well as IP telephony. You'll be part of a team supporting all the hardware and software
including laptops, email, mobile devices, and troubleshooting issues with VPN, Internet, viruses and more. You'll
also be responsible for front-line support of Web-based tools built by Redfin Engineering and rolled out to the
field. You'll feed IT's knowledge back into new products and training curriculum as well as create self-help
content to support users at scale.
This position has the following responsibilities:
Administer Cisco-based network infrastructure, primarily via IOS
Design and create ASA/router/switch/wireless networks
Troubleshooting network related issues
Monitoring system performance, tuning and log analysis
Perform system updates, upgrades, backups, and recovery processes
Manage Cisco IP Phone infrastructure
Manage Windows Servers in an Active Directory environment
Apply administration best practices and methodologies
Helpdesk escalation point as needed.
The following qualifications are expected in order for the candidate to be highly successful:
Bachelor?s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
2-7+ years of progressive technical experience in a startup setting
In-depth understanding of routing and network protocols, including the OSI model
Fluent in Cisco IOS
Strong network troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Solid knowledge with VPN technology and troubleshooting
Experience with Cisco Telephony Systems
Proven experience documenting IT processes and procedures
Strong understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, TCP/IP and DNS
Deep understanding of Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP, and Server 2003/2008
Experience with Google Apps preferred
Cisco and MSCE certifications a plus but not required
Good interpersonal communication skills and team player
