Title: System Administrator

Summary

This position provides day-to-day backup & storage administration as well as backup & storage related design and implementation.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation and administration of backups & storage environment.

Assists with product evaluations and new products/technologies.

Work with other teams to discuss, plan and coordinate activities related to upgrades and other maintenance in the backup & storage infrastructure.

Assist with the documentation of the existing and future backup & storage infrastructure.

Self-motivated; ability to work under limited supervision.

Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem solving.

System tuning and capacity planning activities geared towards meeting specified service levels.

Understanding of general business concepts and best practices.

Adhere to corporate change, security and problem management principles.

Participates in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows as necessary.

Excellent interpersonal/customer relations skills.

Required Experience

Must have 5+ Years - Associates Degree in Computer Science or related discipline that includes class work in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.

Capable of setting and adjusting functions of SAN switches (includes presentation, zoning, masking, etc...) - preferably Brocade based SAN switches.

Must understand fiber channel topologies as it relates to the backup and storage environment.

Strong understanding of Storage Administration (Must understand LUN creation process, Thin/Thick Pools, Raid groups, etc...) - preferably with Clariion systems.

Preferred Experience

Experience with IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager.

Experience with Symantec NetBackup.

Experience with EMC Avamar.

Experience with EMC Data Domain.

Experience with IBM DS Storage Array administration.

Experience with NAS (EMC Celerra).

Experience with VMware.
