Responsibilities:
--Drive internal and external architecture for Calxeda's system and platform strategies and architectures leveraging our vectors of innovation and leadership.
--Work with Calxeda's customers and partners to understand their data center system and platform requirements and key metrics.
--Leverage detailed understanding of Calxeda's technologies and solutions to develop system and platform concepts that meet and exceed our customer's requirements.
--Monitor and participate as needed with relevant industry consortiums and standards bodies, including the Open Compute Project.
--Develop TCO modeling and optimization for proposed system proposals.
--Develop customer presentations that clearly communicate system proposals and value proposition. These presentations likely include 2D and 3D representations of card, board, and rack level solutions.
--Develop high-level designs and block diagrams that incorporate board-level block diagrams, high-level layouts, power and signal distributions.
--Drive system architectures to exploit Calxeda's fabric technologies, as well as provide leadership in interconnect technologies including photonics.
--Develop strategies for optimizing available DRAM and storage technologies, including future DRAM and NVRAM technologies.
--Drive next generation server system concepts into requirements feeding into SoC, platform, and software roadmaps.
--Drive strategies for breakthrough cluster-optimized server power optimization and efficiency in areas spanning SoC efficiency, and board/chassis/rack level efficiencies.
--Collaborate with technology teams to drive breakthrough server efficiencies with evaluation of emerging hardware and software technologies.
--You will have the responsibility to will work in a team of hardware and software architects and systems engineers performing analysis and defining next-generation architectures.
--Work closely with customers, partners, sales, and product departments.
--Ability to influence engineers, marketing, and management across the company.
--Ability to influence customer solutions across multiple product organizations through effective listening and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Education/Qualifications:
--BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields; advanced degree desired.
--Desired experienced:
oMultiple years in an architecture role spanning data center hardware and software.
oTechnical breadth and depth to span SoC, board level, rack level, and data center level designs - hardware, software, and networking.
--Ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners.
--Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
