Reports to: Systems Engineering ManagerThe System Design Engineer will be responsible for new product development of Tilera?s systems designs implementing our leading edge many-core processor devices. Additionally you will provide technical support to Tilera?s manufacturing and sales operations, worldwide. You will be looked to for innovative ideas and their implementation.
Responsibilities include:
Create new innovative and practical product designs in accordance with company specifications and design standards
Oversee PCB layout, interacting with outside service bureau to produce a quality, fully functional product design
Analyze engineering problems and recommend solutions
Take projects from feasibility to production
Convert marketing specification to complete technical definition
Ensure designs achieve product requirements and compliance with technical standards
Host and participate in design reviews, as needed
Provide the sales, operations, and marketing groups with technical assistance
Requirements:
BSEE plus five years experience, or equivalent
First hand experience with high speed digital and some analog design
Experience with designing processor boards, FPGA?s, power supplies, etc
Familiar with CAD tools such as Mentor or Orcad schematic capture and Allegro viewer
Familiar with PLM tools such as Agile or Omnify
Working knowledge of Window based applications like MSOffice (Word, Excel, Visio)
Working knowledge of DDR3 SDRAM
Broad understanding of I/O interfaces including Gbe and 10Gbe, XAUI, PCIe, UARTs, I2C, HPI, and SPI
Working knowledge of Linux
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and multitask on several projects simultaneously
Some travel required
