The Sr System Engineer provides technical resources to X-IO employees, customers and Solution Providers to facilitate the sale of X-IO enterprise storage solutions. This is a journey-level position in the SE/Architect career path. Incumbents are expected to deliver technical solutions to Director or CIO level clients. It is a career advancement opportunity for individuals who have demonstrated consistently superior performance and results over one or more years in Systems Engineering assignments. It is a career development opportunity for individuals who have been successful in Sr. Channel System Engineer or Corporate System Engineer assignments.
Conduct and/or participate in presale product presentations, demos, customer evaluations and ROI analyses. Deliver technical presentations and respond to technical questions during sales calls. Provide technical content for bids and sales proposals.
Develop and recommend Storage Area Network configurations, including fiber channel switches, hubs, tape storage and X-IO hardware and software products.
Install X-IO storage products and connect servers at customer?s site as required.
Train customers and Solution providers on the use of X-IO hardware and application software.
Establish and cultivate ongoing business relationships with customers to facilitate additional business.
Produce a minimum of one white paper per year on an assigned topic such as best practices in storage or technology developments within the storage industry.
Document prospect & customer contact activity and customer configuration information in Clientele. Document personal activity with status and time reporting.
Seven or more years? professional experience, including four or more years? experience selling, maintaining or installing client/server hardware and software systems; two or more years experience in Storage and Open System environments, and one or more years? experience in a relevant assignment with X-IO. (The latter requirement may be waived, based on prior SAN or NAS sales experience.)
Working level knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
Working level knowledge with two or more open OS.
Certification in a fibre channel by SNIA or a preferred fabric partner.
One or more OS certifications are desirable, but not required.
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
