We are currently seeking a Full Time Systems Engineer in St Louis Park, MN.
As the System Engineer you will install new hardware and software releases, conduct system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Creates a positive experience for every customer, every day by believing in and practicing the CDI Experience
? Administers, monitors, and maintains all application, servers and storage with 24x7 support with target up time 99.999%
? Conducts hardware and software configuration management, server administration, storage administration, data backup and recovery, clustering, redundancy, failover, fault tolerance, equipment monitoring and maintenance, documentation and management of systems, commercial-off-the-shelf software, custom software, other information technology infrastructure, and the generation and upkeep of system availability and performance reports
? Installs, configures, administers, upgrades, and troubleshoots operating systems and server software. Troubleshoots Storage.
? Maintains documentation on system administration standards, best practices, and quality improvements, ensuring that Systems Administration processes, procedures, and documentation remain up-to-date and consistent with current technologies
? Works closely with the development team to define and implement platform requirements, performance measurements, capacity planning, and security standards
? Reviews, plans and evaluates server and storage systems
? Troubleshoots server, storage capabilities and recommends improvements as necessary
? Ensures that systems are available to all system users and resolves data communication problems
? Provides documentation, project tracking and management reporting on a daily basis
? Provides tactical and strategic input on overall server planning
? Evaluates and recommends hardware and software products
? Maintains current server components inventory
? Maintains vendor relationships
? Provides estimates for assigned deliverables to Manager, System Engineers
? Provides system performance, tuning, internals and root cause determination

? Minimum of Associates degree and 4-6 years experience in client server environment
? Advanced Windows Server experience
? Intermediate SQL Database experience
? Must have extensive knowledge in the following areas: Active Directory, MS SQL, DNS, WINS, DHCP, SCCM
? Advanced knowledge of backup and data recovery TSM experience is preferred
? Must have advanced server hardware knowledge
? Requires use of office equipment, such as computers, fax machines, telephones and copiers
? Requires sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time
? Requires bending, stooping and team lifting up to 100 lbs
? Requires the ability to see, hear, walk, stand, sit, reach, write, and key
? Requires the ability to travel to other CDI markets as requested
? Requires the ability to provide rotational 24/7-pager support a week every 2 weeks
