System Integration/Test Engineer REQ#AO7306 AOptix Technologies
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
AOptix is looking for a key contributor who will be responsible for developing and executing test processes and procedures for our new Commercial Communication products, in the lab and in the field. With other members of the test team, he/she will be responsible for the ultimate quality of the product. The candidate must be energetic, results-oriented with a positive attitude and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The individual should possess excellent individual and team work skills and be able to interface with multiple functional groups including optical, mechanical, RF electronics, and software and validate the overall system performance. Responsibilities include creating and executing integration and test plans which validate the overall system functionality, performance, and quality.
The candidate must have a solid engineering background (in optoelectronics, free space optical communication and/or RF networking) to analyze and assess whether the systems being integrated meet the required performance criteria. He/she will be responsible for identifying risk areas which could impact the successful deployment of the AOptix systems and recommend/implement risk mitigation plans.
The candidate will also be responsible for identifying, recommending, and customizing test equipment for system validation.
The successful individual must be a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and can multi-task and prioritize work.
Work closely with multiple departments including optical, RF, mechanical, electronics and software to integrate new features and deliver tested product releases.
Contribute to the test plan and the definition, procurement, setup, and installation of the test equipment.
Execute test plans. Report and document test results.
Write and run automated test scripts as part of test execution.
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in engineering, M.S. preferred
5+ years of test experience in optical communication and/or RF networking industry
Hands on experience with integration and testing of optical communication and/or RF transmission systems.
Hands on experience with setting up high speed optical communication links and understanding of the components and equipment involved is a plus.
Prior experience with delivering communication products from concept through product development into manufacturing.
Experience installing equipment on communication towers is a plus.
Must have experience writing test scripts and automating test setups in Labview, Matlab or similar
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (e.g. Shift-working)
Physical demands: Lifting at least 20 Lbs including climbing ladders and roof top heights.
Minimal travel as needed
Flexibility with hours during weeknight or weekends as needed
