Education Required:
BS in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar
Experience Required:
? Requires at least a minimum of 5 years working in system integration and reagent development, or commensurate education (PhD or MS).
? Complete understanding of the PDP cycle, phases and requirements.
? Experience in preparing and presenting technical materials in written and verbal form.
Primary Role:
? Works within the IntegenX R&D organization to develop whole systems. Prepares experimental plan and reports data which characterize and optimize system performance. Confirms product works to spec as required in the System Specification by performing system verification testing. Confirms product fulfills the requirements of the Customer Requirement Document (CRD) by doing product and process validation, performs end to end testing of processes prior to commercial sign off. Responsible for system documentation such as test work instructions and technology review presentations. Works closely with the operation development, system integration, commercial, and engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition of product and process through the feasibility, development and commercial phases of the Product Development Process (PDP).
Job Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
? Prepare experimental plans in coordination with the project technical lead and line manager.
? Prepare and present data in coordination with the projection technical lead and line manager.
? Prepare Verification Test documentation in coordination with technical lead and line manager.
? Conduct bench and breadboard experiments to define system specifications.
? System integration; operate new breadboard and prototype systems in coordination with the engineering and system integration teams.
? Contributes functional parts to the system. These may be script, fluidic, process, reagent or operational.
? Conduct breadboard and prototype experiments to characterize and optimize system performance.
? Development of QC specs and test; both analytical and functional.
? Conducts system validation test plans with expected results to match CRD.
? Conducts system verification tests for performance, reliability, robustness and stability.
? Performs end to end testing of the process.
? Prepares new documents for SOPs, WI, which include process, materials and analysis.
? Assists in the transfer of product to operations.
Secondary Responsibilities:
? Subject matter expert (knowledge transfer/training).
? Participates on product or project core teams as required.
? Participates in Technology Review.
? Presentations at technical meetings.
? Maintains and enhances technical knowledge on company product lines through attendance and participation at in-house training programs, as well as self-study by reading trade journals, manuals and books.
Skills Required:

? Strong technical skills with significant laboratory and/or scientific background needed.
? Strong analytical skills to assess and prioritize test plans and results. Able to produce useful reports and presentations on the experiment level.

Knowledge Required:
? Technical knowledge of molecular and biochemistry.
? Strong technical understanding of PCR, preferably STR.
? Experience in CE DNA separations and detection.
? Experience working with breadboard or prototype instrumentation.
? Must have knowledge to operate and maintain common laboratory equipment.
