THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED This is a technical position that requires the ability to work from high level software design and development to detailed optimization on various processors and smartphone/tablet platforms. Working across the Pelican team as well as the many software/hardware vendors in the ecosystem.
You are a software technical leader who loves solving impossible problems and have worked on multiple cutting edge technology development efforts.
You love working on embedded systems and devices, putting together high-quality, robust and extensible software systems, and then squeezing the absolute best performance out of them and the chip architecture that surrounds them. A systems software expert who can see the big picture of how software comes together, and can work from the highest level of abstraction to the lowest level of implementation.
Apply your embedded software expertise to develop and deploy system infrastructure and advanced imaging/video pipeline software in our camera. You will be working in a heterogeneous processing environment taking advantage of the full computing potential offered by CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, and ISP co-processors, and building software that seamlessly works across all these variations, optimized for performance and function.
This team delivers high-quality production software to Smartphone OEMs. You will work closely with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team of engineers.
Love designing and implementing cutting edge embedded software products
5+ years developing solutions on multiple processor families
Great design skills for system-level software
Understanding of multi-core and multi-threaded embedded systems architectures
Android, iOS, and other Operating systems
Experience working in a heterogeneous computer environment with multi-core Intel or ARM CPUs as well as GPUs or other processing elements
Aggressive optimization experience in networking, imaging, graphics, multimedia or similar
Comfortable working at any level of abstraction from high level design on a desktop to low level tuning on an embedded processor
Solid programming skills in compiled CPU languages (C/C++/Objective-C)
Passion for solving problems and identifying new ones
Expertise with digital cameras, camera processing pipelines, camera frameworks, and image quality fundamentals and metrics
Experience shipping a Smartphone or Smartphone component through qualification and mass production
Imaging, 3D, machine vision, AI, and related experience a plus

Going beyond megapixels, the Pelican array camera provides complete depth information of the captured scene, allowing users to refocus after the fact and perform an unprecedented range of edits.
