System/Sustaining QA Software Engineer Violin Memory
In this role, you will be part of a System/Sustaining QA team, responsible for reproduction of customer issues, bug verification of code fixes that address customer issues, and ongoing test efforts on maintenance release branches. You will work with other members of the sustaining team to surgically test fixes bound for maintenance releases, as well as participate in broader testing efforts intended to verify the quality of the maintenance release branch under test.
You will have the opportunity to work with both other QA engineers as well as development engineers on a wide array of technical issues.
Bug verification, potentially in any area of the software stack
Working with Support to establish the details of customer environments exhibiting a critical issue
Document crisp, detailed findings in bug reports
File new bugs based on behaviors found during regression / verification
Ability to identify issues and independently drive to closure
Validate all sustaining product releases across multiple product lines
Perform final validation of sustaining release fixes
Perform system and regression testing using automated/manual methods
Record all test results, and completely document defects and system errors
Report on product readiness for release
Author test cases for validation of sustaining release fixes
Setup and configure complex environments to replicate customer issues
Plan for and setup new servers, SAN switches, appliances and storage arrays.
Author customer facing documentation as needed
Knowledge of typical customer data storage environments, FC, iSCSI or IB in particular.
Experience with data management features(Snapshots, Replication, Deduplication) highly desirable
Previous experience working with storage arrays, SAN administration and/or FC switches
Graduated with bachelors or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent
Highly motivated, self-directed and able to work under aggressive schedules
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office or equivalent
Excellent organization, time management and problem solving skills
