The Compusearch Systems Administrator will grow to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all things relating to database administration, specifically utilizing Oracle technologies. The Compusearch SA will provide technical support across various functional departments within Compusearch, as well as provide client support for the database portion of our COTS applications.
The Compusearch SA may also provide a number of the following:
Client Onsite and Offsite DBA maintenance, support plans, and installation and upgrade support for Oracle based COTS applications, Tier III support, and support client demonstrations.
Internal DBA support for Compusearch functional organizations, including Development, IT, and QA.
DBA support for all Compusearch hosted environments.
Document DBA processes and procedures as needed
Work with Compusearch Information Security to ensure that all Compusearch developed applications meet Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements
Experience, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Support and troubleshooting experience required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
1-3 years tuning and troubleshooting Oracle instances required
Installing Oracle on Windows/Linux/UNIX
1-3 years Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux Administration experience
Experience (may be academic) with troubleshooting Oracle database issues required
Proven experience (may be academic) with PL/SQL including writing and optimizing code in PL/SQL required
Able to work effectively and seamlessly across functional units
Demonstrated effective communication style required
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge in Oracle Backup/Recovery Methodologies and Strategies is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 and Microsoft IIS is preferred
Education:
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent work experience. Degrees in (or Minors in) Engineering, CIS, or Systems Administration preferred
