Summary:
Provides basic user systems administration activities including adding and deleting users. Grants user privileges in accordance with established company policy and procedures. Assists in the daily activities of configuration and operation of business client/server based systems. Configures systems for optimizing system operation and resource utilization, and performs system capacity and audit functions logging. Installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:

BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Management Sciences or other related Intelligence or Information Technology discipline.
Experience:
0 to 4 years experience in Systems Administration.
Skills:
Windows, Linux and/or UNIX administration and basic commands. PERL scripting is a plus.
Licensures, Certifications:
Microsoft and/or CISCO certifications are desired. MCSA or RHCT may substitute for one year experience. Other certifications desired: A+, Network +, or System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: (% of time)
UNIX or Windows Systems Administration.
User account administration
Installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification.
Client-Server support.
Software hardware upgrade.
Shell script programming (Bourne Shell, C Shell or Korn Shell scripting.
Assist in system configuration
Network Information Service )NIS), Network File Service (NFS), Domain Name System (DNS) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP).
Periodic system backups and developing/documenting standard operating procedure.

Scope of Responsibility: As determined by the project size and requirements
Contacts: Daily meetings with project team.
Physical Demands: Sitting in front of computer workstation all day
