Systems Administrator Alpine Access

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for all clients based deployed equipment. The Sys Admin will be responsible for updating all deployed equipment remotely through software called Symantec Altiris deployment solution and/or other deployment software. The Sys Admin will also be using Windows Sys Prep to capture and restore images for the deployed equipment. The position will require strong familiarity with different Windows Operating Systems and Group Policy.
Support will include, but not be limited to, all deployed equipment, all Altiris Servers, Domain account disables, Ace Management Server, provide assistance to the Deployment Services team and perform systems testing of deployed images.
The Systems Administrator will learn and apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of to the customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILIES
Creation of updates for deployed equipment and pushing the updates via Altiris Deployment Solution. Updates can be script/batch file based or simply copying and installing a file.
Have the ability to learn quickly.
The ability to understand and support all Windows Operating Systems.
Possess customer service skills. Be able to communicate with Client engineers on a technical level.
Participate part of the primary on call rotation.
A good understanding and working knowledge of the Windows command line tasks.
Adhere to rapid change and respond accordingly.
Remote administration of remote end points and servers.
Ability to manage projects for the team.
Have a good understanding of network communication and Server Administration.
Windows Security forensics and remediation of security events.
Group Policy creation and management.
Windows 2003 & 2008 Server administration.
Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, account administration.
Server Performance monitoring.
Ability to create and update systems documentation.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to escalations for issues involving Deployed Equipment.
Assist with user support when IT Services staff is unavailable.
Maintain Purchase Order records for Infrastructure purchases.
Maintain Sys Admin content on Intranet portal site.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
Desktop Systems: DOS 5-6.22;, XP, Vista, Windows 7
Server Systems: Windows 2003 & 2008.
MSSQL 2005/8 (working knowledge).
Microsoft Office Suite.
Backup solutions to include Backup Exec. Solutions are disk to disk and disk to tape using LTO media.
Symantec and Vipre AV solutions.
Experience with software deployment solutions.
Daily support of corporate LAN environments consisting of multi-user/site networks using VPN either in an appliance or as a service to connect remote sites. Manage or provide user training and support as well as all phases of network/equipment administration and maintenance down to component-level troubleshooting and repair/replacement of failed components in workstations and servers
EXPERIENCE
2+ years technology related experience.
Any degree or Certs in an IT related field.
