Systems Administrator II SeaMobile

GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for the design, implementation, support and
maintenance of Company production server infrastructure. This position is responsible for the
maintenance and operation of the Companys internal local area network (LAN) and for
support of the Companys desktops and laptops.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and implements strategy and architecture for Company enterprise applications
such as DNS, Corporate Mail Structure, Active Directory, etc.
Ensures that servers are at latest stable patch-level and are updated with latest virus
definition files.
Responsible for Company Backup Strategy and the archiving of data from Company
production servers.
Responsible for maintenance and administration of Company ERP related software and
hardware.
Responsible for maintaining and testing the different layers of redundancy on a regular
basis. This includes but is not limited to SAN replication, Clustered servers, Backup
devices, and virtualized resource pools.
Builds images of Company Desktop/Laptop so that they can be deployed to new
machines or to refresh older ones.
Provides support on all client workstations, LAN router, network switches, file and print
servers.
Answers help-desk phone and provides phone support.
Ensures end-user problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks.
Maintains proper end-user computer functionality.
Troubleshoots client workstation hardware and software; escalates problem to the
Manager of Information Technology, if necessary.
Troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment.
Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory of systems and component parts.
Studies vendor products to determine those which best meet company needs and assists in
presentations of information to management for purchase consideration.
Provides training on software applications to the end-user community.
SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other related duties as may be assigned.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: Reports to the Manager of Information
Technology; Interacts with Company Employees and Vendors.
