Systems Administrator- IPTV Ecosystems Minerva Networks
Summary:
We are currently seeking a Systems Administrator to work in the Engineering Services team who is self-motivated, hardworking, and innovative, with strong networking, Linux, Web Services, and client/server background. You will be part of an Engineering team building software for telecom operators that are redefining the way people watch TV, and creating the management systems used to deliver TV over IP networks.
Duties:
Responsibilities will include the installation, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, documentation, and verification of IPTV ecosystems client and server technologies from Minerva and third-party vendors, including video servers, conditional access / DRM servers, Minerva middleware, Linux, Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server, Web Servers and set-top boxes. Additionally, you will be called upon to run test, troubleshoot anomalies in these ecosystems and work with third-party vendors and partners. Assist Engineering Services in other testing activity as needed.
Skills:
3+ years experience with advanced client/server systems using relational databases, XML, Apache, application servers, video servers and DRM. Excellent troubleshooting skills and very strong Linux installation/configuration and networking experience. Must have working knowledge of HTTP, RTSP, SOAP, IGMP and other networking protocols. Strong Linux skills required. Must be able to isolate faults to individual components and communicate issues with Engineering when unable to resolve them independently. Strong scripting skills. Must have good people and communication skills. Attention to details and the ability to manage projects. Have experience managing small project teams.
Skills preferred:
Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server. Knowledge of embedded systems, DHCP server configuration, scripting, Java and C/C++ especially desired. Knowledge of at least one video server (e.g., Harmonic, Edgeware, Anevia) and conditional access system (e.g., Verimatrix, Widevine, Microsoft) is highly desirable.

BS in CS or EE, or equivalent work experience.
