Position Summary:
The Systems Administrator will work in a highly dynamic environment as a member of the Systems Operations team. This position reports to the Director of Systems Operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Database Administration, QA, and Development teams, and will be primarily responsible for the health, monitoring, instrumentation, and alerting of the Allegiance SaaS platform. Responsibilities will include scripting tests against production web servers and app servers using a combination of internal and external tools which will proactively alert the operations team before a problem is reported to us by a customer. This individual will also assist the Systems Operations team in normal day-to-day operations as needed, performing tasks such as new client site creation/deletion, server setup, user account setup/maintenance, and will act as an escalation point for support issues as needed. A 24/7 On-Call rotation is expected to resolve system performance or server down issues.
Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain monitoring and instrumentation of the Allegiance Voice and Engage7 SaaS platform
Create and maintain an operations dashboard which gives an overview of services and servers
Create automated daily, weekly, and monthly reports of system uptime and performance
Project growth and assist Systems Operations team in determining when to add capacity
Work with internal teams to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in our platform
Maintain daily system operations blog
Report issues in a timely fashion to support and account management teams
Perform daily system administration tasks as needed
Troubleshoot support issues as a point of escalation
Required Skills:
Monitoring packages such as New Relic, Nagios, Groundwork, Keynote, Gomez, SiteUpTime, What?s Up Gold, etc.Ability to clearly communicate Ability to explain technical jargon and complex concepts to non-technical peopleAbility to take ownership and drive projects to completionExperience with software in a Service Oriented Architecture or SaaS modelKnowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2Knowledge of IIS 7.5Knowledge of SNMP and WMIKnowledge of Windows Performance Monitor/performance countersExperience with .NET Framework 3.5/4.0 applications and instrumentationScripting in at least one Windows-based language such as Powershell, VBScript, etc.Experience working in a SaaS/SOA environment or large, multi-client environmentBasic knowledge of Exchange, SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP, Active DirectoryBasic understanding of networking including VLANs and subnetsExperience in a regulated sector such as HIPAA, SOX, GLBA desired
Education and Experience:
Minimum Microsoft MCP in Windows Server technologies; Microsoft MCSE or MCITP preferred3-5 years relevant job experience required
