SUMMARY
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Technology department. This person will focus on end user support including laptops & desktops, PDAs, Microsoft Office applications, network printers, scanners, & plotters, client VPN, PBX system, tape backup & data restoration, video conference systems, equipment purchasing, asset tracking, and help desk ticketing. The Systems Administrator will have opportunities to develop new skills by working on IT projects and by cross-training in other IT functions.
RELATIONSHIPS
Works under the direction of the Systems & Network Administrator. This position will support employees at the U.S. corporate headquarters, remote offices, and construction sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical support for end user community
Monitors and maintains the use of IT equipment
Document and coordinate the distribution of client software
Requesitions new equipment or services with vendors
Maintains new and spare IT equipment inventory
Creates and maintains technical knowledge base and IT documentation
Assists in the organization, inventory, and audit of all hardware and software resources
Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems to include laptops, desktops, servers, network equipment, and software applications
Maintains excellent communication with manager on all tasks and projects
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree or equivalent and five or more years of systems & network experience
Skills and Abilities: Several years experience with Windows XP Pro, Office 2007, Server 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003. Solid knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN configurations to include experience with routers & switches, Internet firewalls, wireless technology, and VOIP telephone systems. Advanced hardware & software troubleshooting skills. Must be professional, technical, knowledgeable, resourceful, and organized. Possess a strong work ethic, a team player with the ability to work well independently. A Self starter who is capable of providing excellent customer service and follow-through.
