THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Position Scope and Focus:
Provide effective software and hardware support and maintenance to the organization including IT personal equipment as well servers and other IT administrative infrastructure. Need to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to company policies and procedures. Focus is on customer support, ongoing and continued improvements to IT infrastructure as a whole.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties will include administrative and hands-on tasks:
Install and configure OS and software on employee equipment including but not limited to laptops, desktops and phones.
Assist end users by resolving, communicating and documenting reported issues.
Troubleshoot, repair, recover and document hardware and software failures.
Install or rebuild and configure new or existing servers as well as associated hardware, peripherals, services, settings and storage including but not limited to servers, routers, and switches.
Initiate, apply and monitor OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis to all IT equipment.
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
Act as the Corporate Security Officer ensuring that security is not compromised anywhere within the company.
Ensure standard operating procedures are created and maintained to assure consistent performance of IT-related activities.
Recommend solutions, process changes and improvements to business and operational processes in accordance with established change management policies and procedures.
Lead or participate in IT-related projects as requested serving as technical expert by sharing knowledge, training and assisting others.
Ensure system performance is maintained by appropriate, resource optimization and configuration of CPU, memory and disk partitions as required.
Perform daily backup operations in compliance with all company policies and procedures, including appropriate media selection and offsite storage processes.
Learn and support third party applications that are in use across the company.
Bachelor?s or associate?s degree with a major in computer science, engineering, or information science
3-5 years experience in managing an IT infrastructure system for a 30-200 person enterprise including customer service support functions.
IP Networking, DHCP, DNS, network installation, setup and monitoring Cisco routers, switches, VPN concentrator, VoIP, firewall
Wireless (802.11X) networks
Microsoft Active Directory setup and maintenance
Microsoft Exchange Server setup and maintenance
Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server setup and maintenance
Web servers and services (Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat?, etc.)
Enterprise wide system backup strategies and implementations
Microsoft Office troubleshooting and support
Security management and patching
Virus and spyware prevention and removal
Desktop and server administration & troubleshooting
Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting and mitigating network and system problems
Network administration of a 30 to 200 user network (Cisco networks preferred) with both wireless and WAN users
Experience with network services (DHCP, DNS, LDAP, IPSec, SNMP, SSH)
Microsoft Active Directory administration
Microsoft Exchange Server administration
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, Access?)
Tact and sensitivity with confidential information
Ability to work independently or in teams
Capacity to master new skills quickly, resolve problems efficiently and effectively, and make sound decisions
