Systems Administrator Zoosk
Zoosk's Operations team is looking to add another top notch Systems Administrator to our growing organization. You would be a key member of the team that keeps Zoosk running and serving over 50 million users in 60 countries. You should live and breath systems automation, and be excited about managing an expanding, changing, living system from metal to HTTP. Our systems are mostly Ubuntu running Apache, PHP, Java, Ruby, MySQL and many other popular open source systems.Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining Zoosk's infrastructure
Direct responsibility for site reliability
Taking part in a 24x7 on call rotation
Work directly with Engineering to design and build reliable scalable systems
Troubleshoot issues with applications, network and hardware
Qualifications:
Experience with configuration management systems like Chef, Puppet, Cfengine, etc
Strong understanding of web/internet fundamentals, like TCP/IP and HTTP
Experience with high volume web applications
Ability to configure and tune web servers, especially Apache
Understanding of MySQL high availability, performance, replication and backups
Experience with general system scripting using one of Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc
Ability to maintain core infrastructure services such as DNS and LDAP
Experience with package management systems such as dpkg and RPM
Strong understanding of network management and monitoring tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, Munin and Cacti
Dedication to quality and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bonus:
Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routers, switches and firewalls
Experience with networking protocols such as BGP, STP, 802.1Q, etc.
