We are seeking an energetic, innovative, technology-focused individual to join our IT Enterprise Infrastructure team. This position is a hybrid role of a Sr. Systems and Network Administrator with an emphasis on Microsoft/Cisco technologies. The position will be responsible for the daily operations of IT infrastructure which includes both servers and networking devices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible to organize, plan and lead the workflow tasks within the Enterprise Infrastructure Team
Responsible for all corporate server and network security, keeping within corporate audit requirements.
Responsible for all corporate server and network architecture, planning, and budget recommendations.
Responsible for all corporate server and network configuration backups, monitoring and alerting.
Maintain all corporate server and network patching levels, and to participate in regular Vulnerability Management Team meetings.
Responsible for all corporate remote connectivity systems, including VPN, RD Gateway and Direct Access.
Respond to escalated user issues through incident management system.
Write and maintain all technical documentation for corporate servers and network systems.
Responsible for public and private certificates and DNS namespace
Be available to participate in on-call rotation.
Lead the Varolii IT infrastructure staff in managing redundant, distributed, and high availability production systems.
Configure, deploy and maintain all mission critical servers including web servers, application, database and file/print servers.
Effectively research and identify functional, technical and security issues.
Write scripts to automate common tasks and help diagnose problems.
Research new technologies that will improve efficiency.
Identify and develop process improvements between business owners and the IT organization.
Create technical documentation of system processes and configurations.
Troubleshoot complex problems across LANs, WANs, server and desktop connectivity, operating systems and applications with various teams.
Create and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
Develop and maintain relationships with key contributors to the IT organization, including consultants and vendors.
Technical Requirements:
Microsoft competencies:
Competency in Windows XP/Vista and Windows Server 2003/2008/2008 R2 operating systems.
Active Directory (Certificate Services, Rights Management Services, Federation Services)
Forefront TMG 2010, Forefront UAG 2010 and Direct Access
Lync 2010 (VOIP experience a plus)
Remote Desktop Services and Remoteapp deployment, RD Gateway use and configuration
An understanding of Microsoft SQL 2008/2008 R2
Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware knowledge a plus.
System Center 2007 (Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, DPM)
IIS 6, 7 and 7.5
SMTP Services
Network Polciy Server role in regards to RADIUS authentication
Sharepoint 2010
Windows Network Load Balancing
Failover Cluster Manager
A deep understanding of how to install, configure and maintain a Windows Server operating system for a production environment, including application of service packs and hot fixes.
Strong Microsoft Office/Visio skills.
Cisco competencies:
Cisco background, specifically with switches, routers, firewalls, fiber channel switches, wireless and IPS.
Familiarity with Cisco IOS commands used in router/switch configurations.
Understanding of TCP/IP use with respect to subnetting and VLSM configuration.
Troubleshooting interconnected Cisco devices to establish root cause.
Competency working with MPLS.
Miscellaneous skill sets:
Familiarity with managing SAN technology, including properly allocating disk for virtualization and database use.
Good understanding or working knowledge of IPv6 technologies, specifically around ISATAP and 6to4 addressing
Competency in backup and disaster recovery techniques.
Strong background in datacenter management
Batch scripting skills a plus.
Understanding of Power and HVAC requirements and administration in a production environment.
Familiar with APC InfraStruXure configuration, management and monitoring.

Ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team in planning, designing, acquisition, configuration and implementation of complex systems.
Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure and meet customer expectations in a demanding environment.
A desire to assist with engineering of IT systems in a LAN/WAN environment.
Work under general supervision and provide specific guidance to others on complex assignments.
Education / Experience:
BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience.
MCSE/MCSA Windows 2003 preferred
Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or equivalent hands on networking experience
Minimum 1-2 years hands on experience with Cisco networking technologies.
Minimum 3-5 years hands on experience in Microsoft server technology environments
Experience in a 24x7 production environment preferred.
